What you need
1 mug of plain flour
½ mug of brown sugar
1 large egg
½ small block of butter (100g)
1 x 100g packet of dark, milk or white chocolate chips

Method
Preheat the oven to 180°C, fan oven 160°C, gas mark 5.
Put the butter and sugar in a large bowl and beat well with a wooden spoon.
Break the egg into the mug and beat with a fork. Pour the beaten egg into the large bowl with the butter and sugar mixture.
Add the flour and chocolate chips to the large bowl. Mix all the ingredients together.
Use your hands to form a large ball of dough. This mixture should be enough to make 15 small balls of dough.
Shape the mixture into small balls in your hands. Place 7 or 8 balls on each baking tray. Ensure the balls are separated from each other on the baking trays.
Flatten each small ball with the palm of your hand to form cookies.
Bake the cookies in the oven for 15 minutes.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
Top Tip
Make sure the butter is at room temperature so that it will mix easily with the sugar.
