Apple and Blueberry Crumble
What you need For the fruit mixture
1 packet of fresh or frozen blueberries (300g)
4 large cooking apples or 6 eating apples
2 tablespoons of sugar
1 teaspoon ground ginger (optional)
For the crumble
¼ small block of butter or margarine (50g)
½ mug of plain flour
½ mug of porridge oats
2 tablespoons of sugar

Method
Preheat the oven to 200°C, fan oven 180°C, gas mark 6
Chop the butter and put it into the bowl. Add the flour to the bowl.
Use your fingertips to rub and pinch the butter into the flour until it looks like breadcrumbs.
Add the porridge oats and sugar to the bowl and mix all the ingredients together.
Peel and chop the apples into small pieces and put into an ovenproof dish with the blueberries and the sugar.
Sprinkle the crumble mixture over the top of the fruit mix and bake in the oven for 30 minutes or until the top is nice and brown.

This is a delicious pie to make on a cold winter’s day. Serve with cream, ice cream or custard- scrumptious!
